Not too long after I delved into the world of Mist filters, Tide Optics approached me on trying out their new Cine Soft Filter. This time around I used it on more video work which you would be able to see in my showreel, but I also took the opportunity to shoot some product work and behind the scenes shots of this shoot.
This was a more intense Mist Filter than what I've previously used and really made me think about when and when not to use it, as I didn't want the clips to seem like I used it for the sake of it. When working with equipment like this it is vital for me to understand my environment and decide on the style I'm trying to achieve before hand otherwise things can look lazy and unthought about.
Despite the extra thought that goes into using filters such as these, they are great fun to use when you catch the light the correct way and nail the shot you're after.
